Hello, I'm Daniela Grozdich,
mom of two boys 7 and 10 years old. When I started on this journey of becoming a parent coach, I didn’t have the intention of coaching anyone else. I just wanted to learn better tools for myself. I felt exhausted and depleted and was wondering why I can’t be the mother I always imagined to be. I was wondering why I was having such a hard time with the chaos and intensity that comes with raising two strong boys. Especially when that was combined with stress, lack of sleep, self-care and support.
I had been pretty successful in many other endeavors of life, but parenting seemed to bring me to my knees. Everyday parenting situations such as sibling rivalry, bedtime routine, getting out of the house, screen time limits, big emotions, etc. consumed so much of my energy. I was wondering how I could learn to be more patient and stay calm in these daily storms, but just reading parenting books didn’t bring the anticipated results.
That’s when I found the Jai Institute for Parenting and signed up to become a certified parent coach. Every week was like putting another piece of the puzzle together. Understanding why I react the way I react, and why my kids act the way they act. Making sense of so many aspects of parenting that go way beyond what we see in our kids' behavior. I didn’t become a different person, but I now have much better tools available and started on a path that has brought so much transformation to me, my family and my kids. I am able to put connection and empathy first and set boundaries from a loving place. Life with my kids is lighter, more peaceful, more playful and enjoyable. And there is less conflict in between the siblings.
I became so passionate about this work that I decided I don’t want to keep these skills to myself but want to share them with other parents who struggle. And it is the greatest joy for me to accompany a mom or dad on their path of becoming a more peaceful parent and re-connecting with their kids in a meaningful way.
